Biotona Bio Cacao Powder Raw is derived from the beans of the Theobroma cacao, a tree that grows in fertile ground in the South American rain forests. Cacao was originally used by the Aztecs and the Mayas in spiritual rituals. It was first introduced into Europe by the Spanish. Biotona Cacao Powder is made from 100% organic Criollo cacao beans from Peru, harvested from trees grown on mineral-rich volcanic ground. The powder is extracted from fermented and sun-dried beans by means of a traditional cold-pressing process. This results in a 100% pure and raw cacao powder, unadulterated, unsweetened and still packed with all its naturally occurring phytonutrients. An honest product, in all senses of the word.
